Shane Keating
Principal
Shane Keating possesses 31 years' experience within the education field and 18 years' experience within education administration. Previously, he was involved in establishing groups like Students Against Drunk Driving (SADD). He also chaired teacher contracts negotiating committees in both Saskatchewan and Alberta. During this career he always had concern for the community he lived in which led to involvement in numerous service clubs. He was also President of a Community Association for an area annexed by the City of Calgary. As President, he experienced the difficulty associated with that annexation and, subsequently, he realized there must be a better way of liaising with City Hall. This led Shane to a second career as City Councillor of Ward 12 for 11 years with the City of Calgary where he used his previously acquired skills for success in a political environment. During this time, he was involved with many committees, including working as Director of Enmax Corporation (an electrical company with holdings across Alberta and the USA). He also led the initiative to ensure $4.5B from Federal, Provincial and City of Calgary budgets earmarked to the largest infrastructure in the City’s history, the new Green Line transit system serving over 400,000 residents who were poorly served by public transit.
Shane has vast experience which include director, member, and chair on organizations including:
